Day One

October 12, 2018

The first day of the symposium will provide an introduction into the discussion surrounding digital art and exhibition making. Speakers and discussion groups will address the impact of digital technologies on the audience, exhibition and collection, as well as address the understanding of what “Art Now / Art Next” is. The day will also include a tour of the exhibition Public Notice with artist Alison Humphrey.

Day Two

October 13, 2018

The second day of the symposium will include case studies on exhibition re-making to expand on the learning from the previous day. Speakers will discuss themes such as: the gender-technology debate; ephemeral art, modes of productions and its implication for collection and art historical discourse, DIY culture and new tools. The day will end with a reflection upon the discussions raised and the impact of digital technology in exhibition making of the future.
